Her story
Randi Stacey Boothe-Wilson, who went by Stacey, served 13 years as a Marine and was a mother of three. After her discharge in August 1994, she moved to New York with her children, where she was working and living with family. She was about 33 when she was reported missing in October 1994.
On Dec. 6, 1995, a surveyor found her remains in the woods next to Courts Plus on Highway 17 in Jacksonville. For 23 years she was known only as "Jacksonville Jane Doe 95-7000." In February 2019, DNA, reportedly from a postage stamp on a letter she had sent, gave her back her name.
Police say it is unclear how she came to be in Jacksonville. Her cause of death could not be determined, and the investigation remains open. Her daughter and sister have spoken publicly about her.
